Gonzalez-Russell Looms For The Palms in Las Vegas

By Jake Donovan

In the ongoing saga of finding a home for Showtime's March 28 card, yet another venue has entered the mix.

The show now appears destined for The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. Headlining the show, Jhonny Gonzalez defends his World Boxing Council featherweight title versus once-beaten Gary Russell. The televised co-feature pits unbeaten Jermell Charlo versus veteran challenger Vanes Martirosyan.

Previous suggestions have placed the show at Illusions Theatre in San Antonio, Texas and StubHub Center in Carson, California. Martirosyan leaked the possible venue switch through his verified social media account.
