Alfonso Gomez was not amused with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez calling him a 'clown.' During their press tour, Gomez dedicating a rap song to Canelo, which the young Mexican took offense to. Gomez vows that on September 17, at Staples Center, he will clobber Alvarez to capture the WBC junior middleweight crown. Gomez feels that a knockout is necessary to take Alvarez out. Getting a decision over the Mexican superstar, in Los Angeles, will be a tough task to accomplish.

"No more raps and conferences. It's time to train hard. I have the experience and I have skills. I'm no clown, I know it's in the gym where the fights are won, and I will give him a beating. I will not go out there to survive the rounds. One the bell rings, I will mark my territory. He is the champion, a spoiled child and I know I have to knock him out," Gomez said to Sal Rodriguez.
