Gennady Golovkin A Hot Ticket In Los Angeles

By Jake Donovan

On the occasions where Gennady Golovkin can actually find middleweights brave enough to share a ring with him, fans clearly can't get enough.

Barely 24 hours after hitting the market, tickets continue to move at a brisk pace for his May 16 showdown with Willie Monroe Jr. at The Forum in inglewood, California. More than 2,500 tickets have been sold for his return to the greater Los Angeles area, with the expectation of a sold-out venue for his upcoming HBO headliner.

“It’s very similar to GGG’s last fight at the StubHub! Center in October which sold out three weeks before the fight” said Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions. “We had a tremendous response from the media at the press conference (Tuesday) and the fans are thrilled that he is fighting once again in his new hometown of Los Angeles.”

The bout marks Golovkin's second fight of 2015, and first in the United States this year. The unbeaten middleweight terror is coming off of an 11th round knockout of Martin Murray this past February in Monte Carlo.

Golovkin (32-0, 29KOs) has now scored stoppage wins in each of his last 19 starts.

Adding to the show's appeal is the HBO debut of World flyweight king Róman Gonzalez, who faces Edgar Sosa in the second defense of his championship.

“May 16th will be a memorable night in the long history of boxing at the Forum and I strongly encourage fans to purchase their tickets well in advance,” notes Loeffler.

TICKET INFO

Priced at $300, $200, $100, $60 and $30, tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.com, phone 1-800-745-3000) and the Forum Box Office.
Stop trying so hard. Let Golovkin's career speak for itself without the smoke n mirrors
Too bad his career might not overlap with Frochs, too risky for the bigger guy.
You never said that :lol1: You made an attempted factual statement thinking you wouldn't get called on it. You go way above and beyond the call of duty to hype Golovkin. Blatant lies and half-truths
Good job man,…
