MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada- When Marcos Maidana is at his best, he throws punches in bunches, and employs a relentless attack.  It is no secret that will be his game plan Saturday night when he faces Floyd Mayweather on Showtime pay-per-view.

In a conversation with his trainer Robert Garcia, that game plan was reiterated as the key to victory.  Garcia and Maidana have both said that while they acknowledge that Mayweather is the best fighter in the sport, respect goes out the window on Saturday night.

"Chino has to throw punches.  He can't go out there like other fighters who don't want to take a chance and show too much respect. It probably will take a couple tries but that is what we have to do.  He has to keep throwing punches," Garcia stated.

Maidana took the disrespect a step further by using some of the Mexican style Spanish slang that he undoubtedly picked up training in Oxnard, California with Robert Garcia alongside the primarily Mexican and Mexican American fighters in Garcia's stable.

"Como dice la raza, me vale madre ese guey (I don't give a f*** about this guy)", Maidana said in reference to Floyd Mayweather with a big smile on his face.

Mayweather has won most of his fights in dominating fashion and in recent years only Miguel Cotto was able to give the pound for pound king any real type of problem in the ring.  Cotto had success cutting off the ring and pinning Mayweather on the ropes, bloodying his nose and causing swelling to his face in the process.  Ultimately it wasn't nearly enough for the Puerto Rican to leave the ring with his hand raised.

Garcia said that he has watched that fight and feels that his fighter will fare a lot better than Cotto did.  He feels that Maidana not only has more power than Cotto, but that Mayweather will have problems dealing with the awkward angles from which the fighter known as Chino throws his punches.

"Miguel Cotto did a good job but he didn't do enough. He is a great fighter.  One of the best fighters in the world but he doesn't have the style that Maidana has," said Garcia. "Maidana has the style where he throws punches from all angles and from all over, punches that aren't even taught in boxing.  These are punches that trainers don't even teach so that is going to be a big difference plus the power that he has, I think he has more power than Cotto. I don't think that Mayweather has ever fought anyone like that," he continued.

Mayweather likes to continually point out the fact that, "45 have tried and 45 have failed," referencing his perfect record. Garcia doesn't doubt the greatness of Mayweather but said that none of those 45 fights were against Marcos "Chino" Maidana.

"Floyd has been in there against the best - against everybody - but never against anyone like Maidana," Garcia told BoxingScene.com.
