Fury: I Already Beat Wilder, One Down, I'll Do Same To Joshua

Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is not holding his breath for a potential blockbuster against IBO, IBF, WBA, WBO heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.

Back in December, Fury nearly pulled off the impossible when he fought WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to a twelve round split draw at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Fury believes he should have been awarded the victory - and many observers agree with him.

Fury is currently in talks to face Wilder in a rematch in the next few months, potentially in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Joshua is scheduled to return to the ring on April 13th, at Wembley Stadium in London.

Beyond the financial reason, there are political reasons as to why a fight between Fury and Joshua would be difficult to make.

Fury is promoted by Frank Warren and televised by BT Sport, while Joshua is handled by rival promoter Eddie Hearn and handled by rival network Sky Sports. In the United States, many of Warren's show are being carried by ESPN, while Hearn has an eight year content deal with streaming service DAZN.

Fury believes that he's already beaten Wilder, and feels confident of doing a job on Joshua as well.

"I've already beaten Wilder so that's one down, and I'll do the same to Joshua if given the chance," Fury told BT Sport.

"But I don't think it's going to happen, sorry to disappoint the sports fans. Joshua, even with two hammers in each hand, could never beat Tyson Fury - and they know it. They know that, they're not silly. It's a business as well, so they're not going to take the fight, simple as.

"They may say they're going to take the fight, they might talk about it, but then they'll fight somebody else like they keep doing. But that fight ain't going to happen. I'm not holding my breath at all."
