Fury: Andy Ruiz Will Win Again, Joshua is Not The Better Boxer

Tyson Fury is backing Andy Ruiz to once again come out on top, when he faces Anthony Joshua in a fall rematch.

Back on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Ruiz shocked the world when he dropped Joshua four times for a seventh round TKO to capture the WBO, IBF, WBA, IBO world titles.

Joshua was a massive favorite to win the contest and widely tabbed to end Ruiz in the first half of the fight.

Instead of getting an expected win, Joshua managed to score a big knockdown in the third round - but then Ruiz scored two knockdowns of his own in the same round. And then later, in the seventh, Ruiz dropped Joshua two mores time before the referee decided to wave off the fight.

Fury has a lot of respect for Ruiz and regards him as the better boxer when compared with Joshua.

He expects the same exact outcome in the rematch, which Joshua has contractually pursued for the final quarter of the year.

“The same thing again [will happen in the rematch]. I don’t think he’s a better boxer than Ruiz," Fury said.

“So the only thing that AJ can do is knock him out early, try and get rid of him fast. He knocked him down in round three, but look what the little fat Mexican did, he got back up off the floor and said ‘alright, let’s have it’. Listen, he got dropped and he’ll get dropped again. He hit him with a clean shot and he went down.

“He needs to knock him out and jump on him fast. He’s not a better boxer, he doesn’t have better feet, he doesn’t have faster hands and he doesn’t throw better punches. So he’s coming off second best in all categories other than athleticism.”
