WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch will likely defend his title against Mikkel Kessler in either Copenhagen or Herning. It depends on the domestic reaction to Kessler's tough decision loss to Andre Ward. If it heads to Copenhagen, that would mean a stadium that holds up to 30,000 and Herning an arena that holds up to 7,000.
Kalle Sauerland of Sauerland Event confirmed the information to ekstrabladet.dk. A deal was worked out with Froch's promoter Mick Hennessy last week. Kessler vs. Froch is tentatively planned for March 6 but depends on the healing process of the multiple cuts that Kessler suffered against Ward. Kessler was said to have earned $2.65 million against Ward and will probably get the same amount of money for the rest of the Super Six bouts.
Additionally, Arthur Abraham's bout against Froch will take place in England. Froch would like the fight to be held at the “City Grounds” stadium in Nottingham, which could hold up to 35,000.
