Froch Stills Wants Calzaghe Clash, But Clev is Waiting

By Chris LaBate

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is still targeting a showdown with the retired Joe Calzaghe. For years Froch chased Calzaghe, until the unbeaten champion from Wales retired in 2008 after beating Roy Jones Jr. Froch has heard whispers that Calzaghe is considering a comeback. If Calzaghe returns, Froch wants him at Nottingham's City Ground in 2012 - if he overcomes WBA champion Andre Ward in the Super Six final bout.

“We still may see me fight Joe Calzaghe, who I hear is back in the gym and on the pads,” Froch told Sky Sports News.

But if Calzaghe remains retired, the unbeaten boxer who took over his title as the "champion of Wales" - WBO light heavyweight king Nathan Cleverly - would love to get Froch in the ring.

“I’d love to fight him and it’s a nice option for me,” said Cleverly. He will win the Super Six and I have the WBO light-heavyweight crown."

Froch needs to let this go, it will never happen.

Can't see it happening but if it did and Calzaghe was anything like he was before he retired he would wipe the floor with Froch, too much workrate and Froch doesn't really react to body shots too well, he mentioned…

Calzaghe won't come out of retirement and he shouldn't cause dude is 40 yrs old something so why comeback and lose his "0" to younger guys.

Doubt Joe will come back but if he does, Froch knocks him out

Joe not coming back Froch has Kessler rematch possible after Ward that fight was damn good, rather see that than Cleverly
