TONY BELLEW deserves a lot of credit going up against one of the best in the world tonight.
I have to say, it would be a big shock if he pulls it off against Oleksandr Usyk at Manchester Arena.
Bellew did not have to take this fight against the undisputed king of the cruiserweight division.
But he stepped up to the plate against an unbeaten holder of four world titles.
But he still deserves plaudits for taking on a challenge of this size.
After his heavyweight Hayedays, he is coming back to cruiserweight and it will be interesting to see how much effect dropping weight has on him.
It won’t be easy having to go back on a strict diet after having the freedom up at heavyweight.
The Liverpool fighter upset the odds when he went up to heavyweight to beat David Haye twice.
You have to admit it wasn’t the Haye of old he fought but he still got the job done against a big puncher.
If he can get the job done tonight, he will have upset the odds again in what could be his last fight.
If you want a warm-up then tune in to Artem Chebotarev against Argentinian veteran Javier Francisco Maciel from Russia on BoxNation today at 2pm.
It should be an interesting clash between a rising middleweight name and an experienced fighter which will give us an idea of how good Chebotarev might be.
