Frank Warren: Make No Mistake, Dubois Going Right To The Top

By Frank Warren, courtesy of The Daily Star

DANIEL DUBOIS is getting ready to conquer the world – the next step is the Commonwealth title.

The rising heavyweight star will face Ebenezer Tetteh on September 27 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

It will be another chance for the British public to see the hottest prospect in the glamour division of the sport.

Make no mistake, Dubois is going right to the top.

But first he is going to collect all the belts on the way up.

The Londoner won the English title last year before he added the British crown with his stunning fifth-round destruction of Nathan Gorman last month.

Now it is the Commonwealth title in his sights before he starts looking to the European.

Then the world will have to take notice of the powerful puncher who has gone the distance just once in his 12 fights so far.

It is set to be an exciting show on September 27 with Nicola Adams back in the ring.

The Leeds flyweight was elevated to WBO champion recently after an injury to the former title holder.

But she will want to really feel like a world champion by getting another win to go with the belt.

Then we will be hoping to land a unification fight against the winner of Argentina’s IBF champion Leonela Paola Yudica and Mexican Isabel Millan, who fight this week.

The season is starting to take shape and it should be another exciting one with us on BT Sport.

Josh Warrington will defend his IBF featherweight title against Sofiane Takoucht on October 12 at Leeds Arena.

We wanted a unification fight for Warrington but none of the other champions would step up to face him so we’ve gone with the highest-ranked challenger for the IBF.

I was gutted this week to hear about Carl Frampton’s freak injury which cost him a fight against Emmanuel Dominguez this weekend in Philadelphia.

Frampton will be back and I’m sure we can, along with Top Rank in the US, get him back into world title contention soon.

I'd like to see Dubois Vs David Price before the years out.

I’ve heard DDD was the one who sparked AJ in sparring, caused the panic attack, gave him diarrhoea and stole his stamina bar. Ruiz has employed DDD for the rematch so I think AJ wins this time

Right to the top of the garbage heap...

Daniels has a great future in boxing you just pray he doesn't surround himself with shady business men just itching to use him.

Yep. They are a direct lineage of Don King and the slimy promoters of the past. The suits change. The networks change. But they are just as full of it.
