Frank Warren: I Feel Joshua Will Simply Be Too Good For Parker

By Frank Warren, courtesy of The Daily Star

Anthony Joshua has worked hard on his speed in the build-up to this fight

And that should be enough to keep his unbeaten record intact.

The WBA and IBF heavyweight champion already has got a good jab and a long reach.

If he’s now got the speed as well then he is in good shape as Joseph Parker is pretty ponderous.

Parker looked very promising when he first started out and was coming through the ranks.

But in a few of the fights I’ve seen more recently he didn’t look all that.

The New Zealander’s last bout was against Hughie Fury last September when he won a majority decision.

Now Hughie has a different style to Joshua but he really could have won it he had shown a bit more aggression.

Parker doesn’t seem too bad on the chin, he can certainly punch and we know Joshua has been wobbled in the past - so the Kiwi has a chance.

But I think Joshua will simply be too good for him.

If he catches anyone he can knock them out although it wouldn’t surprise me if he wins on points this time around.

Also scheduled for this card, David Price collides with Alexander Povetkin, former world champion Anthony Crolla will faces Edson Ramirez, Ryan Burnett defends his WBA World Bantamweight crown against Yonfrez Parejo, Josh Kelly also goes for his first belt against former IBF World champion Carlos Molina for the WBA International Welterweight title and Welshman Joe Cordina fights for his first pro title with the WBA International Lightweight belt on the line against Andy Townend.

Parker is definitely not ponderous, that's ludicrous! he's actually one of the best athletes in the division when it comes to power, agility, stamina, foot work, speed etc etc
No he didn't.
I know ref stopped takkam but the way I see it is tajkam felt he could go on to put it mildly. He was furious it was stopped. Whereas wlad wasn't arguing with ref about being stopped.…
Parker doesn’t look like he can go 12 with Joshua imo.
8th round stoppage for me If Parker does go 12 he deserves big credit . I just hope he hasn’t turned up for the coin and runs all night

Parker doesn’t look like he can go 12 with Joshua imo.
