It is not a nice thing to be Wilder's trainer. Jay was saved by the throwing in of a towel. Should anything really bad happened to Wilder he was going to be accused of not caring about his boxer. Even if the towel was not thrown, the referee was going to stop the fight anyway. His going out with his shield mantra is a fantasy and it will remain that. He must accept it as a fantasy and move on. No one is going to allow anyone to be beaten up like he was to a point of sustaining serious injuries. This is a sport not a street fight.
