Sowell came from nothing, so his compassion might be a little weak for the homeless as he sees that if he could make it everyone could make it in the USA. That doesn't make him a crazy or terrible person, just one shaped by his experiences.
You love having white people feel that guilt, unfortunately for you I got zero of it. I have compassion but no guilt. For you wanting me to feel guilt would be saying that you aren't the master of your own destiny, that someone else is responsible for your lack of well being. That isn't the case, especially in today's day and age.
