Tyson Fury tells Dillian Whyte he’s not getting title shot until 2022

Tyson Fury has told Dillian Whyte not to bank on getting a world title shot against him in the near future.

Whyte is waiting as the WBC heavyweight champion’s mandatory challenger, with the fight due to be called in February 2021.

The ‘Body Snatcher’ was previously set to get his shot midway through 2020, but the WBC gave his mandatory position to Fury due to Whyte’s UKAD situation at the time.

After being cleared of all wrongdoing, Whyte was reinstated as mandatory after Fury, who then used his shot to dethrone Deontay Wilder.

Now, the ‘Gypsy King’ has publicly revealed he will look to take a different route by unifying the division against Anthony Joshua instead.

Whyte tweeted: “Come on Tyson Fury, you stole my mandatory, fight me.

“Are you a king or a coward like Deontay Wilder? Let’s fight, I’m ready, let’s go.”

Fury replied with a comment on Instagram: “Funny how everyone wants to fight during COVID-19 when there’s no sports events happening.

“Also, I have a contracted fight with Deontay Wilder first, then when I win that I’ll have the fight with Joshua.

“Undisputed comes before mandatory, happy hunting.”

Whyte has been campaigning for a WBC heavyweight world title shot since rising to number one in their rankings back in late 2017.

Following a number of rulings by the governing body over the next 18 months, the Brit finally became mandatory by beating Oscar Rivas last July.

The decision which saw him replaced by Fury during his UKAD situation was highly questioned, but the end result is that Whyte is now due for his title fight in February 2021.

However, Fury is correct in saying that a unification fight can overrule a mandatory and this could see Whyte’s wait extended further.

After Fury beats Wilder and Joshua beats Pulev, it will be pushed to Fury - Joshua unification. In case first fight won`t be one-sided , there will be a rematch.

Which means, Fury -Whyte will unlikely happen before 2022.

Dillian should be using this time to improve his skills and become a better fighter.

Lord knows he's not ready now. Gets dropped by the first punch that Fury lands on him.

Whyte isn't in the same league as Fury. I'm a Wilder fan but truly respect what Fury is capable of and Whyte showing up at 270 pounds to fight Wach spoke volumes. He definitely dont want the Fury smoke.

Whyte is just rushing to his imminent doom for the payday!

Whether it was Wilder or Fury he’s just not on their level, Whyte should’ve took the eliminators when he had the chance but refused and started complaining but didn’t follow protocol!

From Body snatcher to B sample snatcher!

Bum whyte can't be happy to hear that, it means he'll have to come up with more excuses to continue ducking 304 year old Ortiz while going after the formidable 400 year old Mariuz Wachs's of the world.
