  • Christopher "Tijuana Can Man" Lovejoy's American Debut? Feb 13th 2020, Opponent TBA

So who is it gonna be? Will they just conjure up another chunky Mexican but have it in Vegas where someone might possibly see it / record it? Hilarious that the WBA has this guy ranked at #12 in the world. Above Kuzmin, below Pulev.

If you're not familiar with Lovejoy https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/746640 let me point out some highlights on his record:
    • Total Record of his 18 opponents at time he fought them: 39 wins 177 losses. All Mexican guys in Tijuana either cruiserweights (or as low as feather/light welter/middle lhw guys) or moribdly obese it appears.
    • His debut opponent Aron Alexis Franco he fought again for his 17th fight and Franco weighed in 60lbs heavier.
    • Fought Edgar Montejo THREE TIMES! lol the more you dig in this horrible record the better it gets. His only win to date is agaisnt this poor mofo 0-21(18ko) https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/694076 who they won't even let fight in Tijuana anymore.
    • Martin Rodriguez, Lovejoy's 13th opponent was a welterweight who fought as low as featherweight and was in a lightweight fight it looks like in 2016... 2 years prior to facing Lovejoy. I wasn't even looking at the weights anymore at that point but the guy's name stood out like a sore thumb among the Hispanic names; Ray Lampkin.
    • First name I recognize on one of the opponent's record is Darnell Boone the tough light heavyweight journeyman who KO'd Jorge Alfredo Leal in Tijuana in 1
    • Second recognizable name on opponent's record is Andy Ruiz Jr who was debuting against opponent Miguel Salvador Ramirez 9 years ago. Was 0-9 at the time he fought Lovejoy all by KO/TKO.
    • Third recognizable name on opponent's record is Brandon Adams a middleweight who KO'd Daniel Yocupicio in the fourth round of a 4 rounder in 2013. Keep in mind this was Lovejoy's most recent win in 2019-05-17 Daniel Yocupicio also was TKO'd by Jose Luis Castillo is a welterweight bout in the 2nd round in 2010.

Bringing up the names because he said in an interview with Kugan on iFL TV that those who question his record and opponents that he fought guys a lot of other guys fought and he stopped them when they didn't, which does not appear to be the case as far as I can tell.

Video starts at him mumbling what I just referenced

If you skip to 8:40 in the video he talks about how he's had 600 "undocumented amateur street fights" bragging about beating up the average untrained man using his massive size advantage.

Seems like he was self conscious of his man boobs or something hiding out in mexico til he'd lost enough weight.

Actually found some kind of description of one of his fights... his first. Some pictures too..

      http://sportofboxing.com/a-little-of...lon-mezzanine/

In Bout #1, it was Christopher Lovejoy (303 pounds, 6’5″ tall) from Los Angeles in his Pro debut taking on the much shorter Aaron Franco (220½ lbs.) and basically having his way up until the referee’s stoppage at the 1:18 mark of round one. With Lovejoy being so tall, Franco’s repeated, failed attempts to reach up and hit Lovejoy in the face reminded you of a youngster in grade school who repeatedly tries to jump up and touch the basketball net. It never happened. But Mr. Lovejoy had no problem shooting his straighter punches down on Franco’s head.

Not to mention Tyson Fury's story about dropping him in sparring.

      https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/5...tory-sparring/

Tyson Fury has recalled the amusing story of his encounter with American heavyweight Christopher Lovejoy when they sparred together before the Tom Schwarz fight.

The ‘Gypsy King’ claims he decked the unbeaten fighter in the first round of their session after hearing his trash talk around the US gyms.

“What happened was, there was this big fella, six-foot-five, 20 stone, 18-0 (18 KOs), he was highly rated by the WBA,” Fury told iFL TV.

“And he was saying all over Las Vegas, all in the heavyweight gyms, ‘I’m gonna knock Tyson Fury out. He’s a bum, he’s this, he’s that.’

“So one of the trainers at the Mayweather gym said, ‘Oh Tyson, there’s this guy who said he’s gonna knock you out.’

“He caused the trouble, he phoned him up and said, ‘Say it to his face, say it to him on the phone.’

“I said, ‘Are you gonna knock me out, are you?’

      “He said, ‘Yeah, I am.’

“I said, ‘Come down and do it then.’

“So anyway I wasn’t at the gym and he turned up to the gym. I said, ‘I’ll tell you what to do, come back tomorrow and I’m gonna knock you out. If I don’t, it don’t count.’

“He sort of flapped it, didn’t know how to take it. But he left and he came back tomorrow.

“My cousin said, ‘I want you to drop him with a straight left hand in the first round.’

      “I said, ‘You got it.’

“He comes running at me, I just went slip, boom and down he went. All 20 stone of him on the floor.”

Doooo it. I'll drop the 10 lbs necessary to make 175 and you can come beat me up for a tune up fight. I'm 6'2 and have some long gangly arms but I got no power and can't box my way out of a wet paper bag.

Dang you must be even lankier than moi. You made it sound like you're some old out of shape dude other times you mentioned wanting to box again. Either way I'm using this as an excuse to bump my horrible and horribly detailed thread about this bum cause someone just posted who da fook is Christopher Lovejoy.
