Very good! Hopefully DAZN gets rights to major sports so that boxing gets even more popular by association.

6 million watching the fight is highly highly unlikely. You don't even get that with fights on terrestrial TV. Granted, you don't see a guy of Canelo's stature fighting on there but still.

This is the power of Canelo even in a mismatch. This is why he is getting paid that huge contract. True game changer for DAZN.

2021 is when the rights open up for NFL and NBA. Until then they will rely heavily on boxing to increase their subscriber base and get their name out. I guess also the MLB rights they got, though that is probably just for the hardcore baseball fans.

I don't doubt a lot of people downloaded this app and watched the Canelo fight. His star power is through the roof right now. But whatever the viewership numbers are the key will be how many of them can DAZN convince to keep the subscription after the free month trial? They got the word out people know about the app but now the real work begins give them content to keep coming back and renewing.

I suppose this is a proof that Canelo is a bigger star in boxing than AJ, for people who say otherwise.

AJ v Povetkin was on DAZN and nobody watched it, even though that first month was free too.

Which rights? I was thinking more the deal the NFL has with Direct TV to air NFL Sunday Ticket. Although I can't say I know much about that deal.
