I see morons posting about Kovalev's trunks being too high, and even that HBO slave Roy Jones talking **** about his trunks being too high...

Ward had a good performance. But then his fanboys start throwing pure lies about Kovalev to fully discredit him, and this is pathetic.

come on dude, you can't just use selected pics to justify your position because we know trunks move down as a fight goes on, especially when a fighter is sweating and losing a ton of water weight.

Please answer honestly: when weeks showed where punches would be legal before the fight, did you question that?

I took those pics from the BoxingScene mega gallery, I just went one by one no preference.

And yes I did question Weeks' instructions, because you can clearly see Kovalev's belly button and yet he still says the white strap is fine. That is the bladder region and against boxing guidelines.

ok. I honestly thought they were a little bit high. Now that we know what happened with GGG/Kov sparring, saw kov tire in the 1st fight, and his reaction to the body attack this fight, I think its easy to see why his team would have Kov's trunks high.

His ability to absorb body punches is not good, which is consistent with a boxers using modern techniques and not old school methods like the medicine ball.

His trunks were clearly a few inch higher than wards when the ref was giving instructions before the start. Yet Kovalevs navel is around the same height as Wards.

Truth is Ward has always been a dirty fighter known for his low-blows, headbutts, elbows, clinching etc. But certain fans don't like to hear the troof.

That is the perception of him on internet forums from posters mad that he defeated guys they like.

In the real boxing world, among those that actually shape public perception of a fighter, Ward is a respected champion.
