No PBC fights nominated for RING Fight of The Year (GBP Bias?)

For reference, Frampton-Santa Cruz II and Thurman-Porter were in ESPN's top 4 fights of the year and both are among BWAA's 6 nominees.

It seems that the GBP bias over at the RING has destroyed the journalistic integrity of the once great magazine.

Don't think either of those fights had to be on the shortlist tbh. And they had a Thurman-Porter round in their round of the year shortlist.

Commey vs. Easter Jr should've been on that list. Soto Karass vs. KAMEGAI should not have been on that list. Fights of the year should be fights that mean something. That fight meant nothing it was a filler.

I was defending Ring for a long time cuz their was just subtle hints at bias one could argue at one point. At this point doe I think Oscar has said f#ck it & has told the staff not to focus on Haymon/PBC guys cuz there is just too much being missed or overlooked by Ring.

I haven't bought a boxing magazine in years & its probably been a decade plus since I had a subscription to any of them which used to be a mainstay in my mailbox. The internet killed magazines for me & I believe most people. Boxing fan aren't the most advanced mfers with technology doe so the leftover boxing mags must sell enough copies to stay in business, but I suspect they'll be outta business soon.

Randomly I'd be curious to see subscription numbers for Ring or any boxing mag over the last 2 or 3 decades.

I can say I stopped my subscription a couple years ago when it just became a GBP promotional booklet.

I stopped when they put Rousey on the cover and openly said De La Hoya ordered Rousey to go on the cover
