Default Elbow Injuries

My elbow has been knackard for 6 months, after injuring myself training I left hooked the bag and damaged it. I still cant fight or use my left properly anymore. I feel like if i snapped my punches i would damage it even more. I see the Doc and he gives me painkillers which dont do ****. It constantly hurts in the elbow joint.
Has anyone had something similar?
Any help to get me back in the ring would be great.

i got tennis elbow in my right arm that flames up every now and then...you just have to streatch it out and live with the pain. I've had it for like three years and have learned to just deal with it

Elbows are big trouble because, once you stretch the tendons and ligaments, they are prone to do it again. It's not a real strong joint because it doesn't carry weight. Probably the best thing would be to hit the weights, biceps and triceps curls, but don't overdo it, as these are relatively small muscles and easily overworked. Also, try to look at your form. Hooking with the palm towards the floor is more natural than hooking with the palm facing towards you. If you look at both motions, you can see that the first is more natural as far as the movement of the elbow joint goes. If all else fails, you'll have to give it a rest for a couple months or so.

If you are experiencing elbow pain, the key is to get a diagnosis from a doctor, preferably a sports injury specialist, follow a program to heal, and then embark on a program to keep from having the problem return. I'm in my fifties and still boxing several times a week, but I could not have continued with this sport without taking injuries seriously and taking steps to avoid the return of things like shoulder and elbow pain. When I was young and stupid I would try to tough it out. You can ignore the pain when the endorphines are flowing in the gym. But after your workout, every daily activity becomes agony. You can't live like that, and if you're like me you can't give up the sport you love. What you can do is get smart about these things. See a doctor. Here are some resources to review before going in to the doctor. The nih.gov website - search for "elbow injuries and disorders". A British site shoulderdoc.co.uk - search for "sports injuries of the elbow." Also search for "tennis elbow" on npr.org for a description of a very new treatment option. You can't fight, if you don't avoid and manage injuries.

Thanks for your posts. I'm experiencing the same thing, it happens each time i throw a right hand. I'll give it a rest, allows me to work on jab and left hook!

Can someone please the describe the pain? O have a problem where one I clench the fist at the end of my jab it seems that a muscle or tendon/ligament at the bottom of the elbow/top of my forearm really hurts. Is that tennis elbow? Can someone please explain in detail? Thanks
