You don't need to extend that jab that much..
You're probably trying to punch with your arms too much also..
Trying moving into the punch before it reaches it's strongest point.

Sorry bro but if you either sublexated (partial dislocation, just pops back in straight away) or dislocated (you would have had to have it poped back in) your shoulder, which it sounds like you have, you won't be fighting on February 24. If you did either of those you will be out 3 months and depending on your age and the severity may need surgery. You will have to consult with a specialist. The recovery after sublexation or dislocation usually goes as follows:

0-2 weeks - Have arm in sling with as little movelemt as possible

2-6 weeks - Don't move arm above chest height and start doing theraband exercise

4 weeks - Start on light weights, still nothing that involves lifting arm above chest high

6 weeks - Start on heavier weights and pretty much go back to doing everything as normal except stay away from any contact sports or activity

3 months - Shoulder should be basically as good as its going to get so you can resume playing sport. The shoulder will continue healing for up to a year but the difference betweem 3 months and a year is very little so you would only wait that long if you were playing a very high contact sport such as football. Boxing can be resumed after 3 months as even though it is high contact, the contact you have to worry about is getting hit from behind around the shoulder when your arm is raised, which is very unlikely in boxing.

Hope this helps

P.S im guessing it was an anterior dislocation which is where the shoulder comes out forwards. That is the most common dislocation.

You need to strengthen your rotator cuff. especially if you want to be back in the game quickly.

I feel your pain man, I dislocated my shoulder a week before the nationals for basketball. I hate to be the bearer of bad news and i hope im wrong but thats the standard recovery time. Make sure you consult with a specialist to make sure. If you would like some specific strengthening exercises just PM me.
