Best finishers in boxing history?
Title says it all. Once they hurt you, who was most likely to finish you only a matter of seconds later? Who were the best closers in boxing?
I start off with Felix Trinidad & Sugar Ray Robinson. Both were offensive machines and once they smelt blood 9 times out of 10 you were on your ass shaking your head if not on your face kissing the canvas asleep.

not only was leonard a good finisher when he got his man hurt he was also just good finisher of fights in general - nobody finshes the last few rounds better than ray ... if you are not up on points on him going into the last two or three rounds you will lose

both marquez brothers
one of the most talented finishers i've seen was salvador sanchez
it's a shame we didn't get a chance to see him fight more and put some more scalps on his belt
he had everything you need to be a finisher. it begins and ends with your temperament.
he had power in both hands from all over the place with a ton of snap
to the body and head.
tons of handspeed and perfect timing
and he had a dynamite chin
finishing is about taking risks, it helps to have a great chin to develop the temperament to not be denied when you see a man wilt
the subtleties of finishing can be developed (obviously with the talent god gives a fighter)
but the man that smells blood in the water and goes for the kill is born that way
EDit: he doesn't get enough love here, and he belongs at or near the top
archie moore could knock a man out by accident

Some excellent choices so far. Aaron Pryor I found to be a supreme finisher with an animalistic killer instinct. He illustrated his ability countless times (vs. Arguello, Johnson, Blackmoore etc), once he smelled blood he would make sure the follow-through was comprehensive.
