Default back to a bit of training

hey ive been out of training for some time now just been gettin pissed n smokin really, but im gettin back into it tomorrow, just to ease myself into it im goin to hit the cross trainer, bike, treadmill for a month flat out, do u think its a good idea to take protein shakes durin this time so i dont lose any muscle just fat? any input appreciated cheers
