Default Cutting weight for a non boxer

I hope it is okay to ask this question... I'm not a fighter but i am looking to find out the trade secrets of how fighters cut weight. I am currently invloved in a weight loss bet with a co-worker that is due to end in a month. On this picked day the two of us have weigh in and the lighter of the two of us wins... There is quite a bit of money and pride at stake here so any advantage i can get is welcome. Any advice anyone can offer as to what i should do to be as light as possible on this day would be greatly appreciated
