Default deviated septum/ runny nose problem

IM GETTING BETTER CONTROL OF MY BREATH SINCE I STARTED CLOSING MY MOUTH IN the ring but i still have a problwm. i think i have a deviated septum. i got my nose broke in a fight back in 2000 (i won by the way) and i had to slip it back in place by myself and i dont know if i did it right. it was crooked and i just popped it back in. i really dont get a full breath thru my nose when i inhale and recently i started to blow my nose and air comes out the side of my eye and yesterday mucus even came out my eye. i was shocked. what could this mean?

also since i started to kepp my mouth closed my air is getting better but my nose starts to run and i be afraid im gonna blow out mucus everywhere while fighting because its starts to run. what should i do? and is the runny nose common?

oi lad, I had my nose broken twice in the mid 90's...couldn't breathe through either nostril, especially at night. Had to prop one nostril up at night. So ended up having surgery to straighten the septum. Still is crooked but **** at least I can breathe at night. Specialist said no more boxing...but had 3 years off sparring/fights, only training. Now back to fights and footy...still not 100% but getting **** out my eyes. That's due to the close proximity of the paranasal sinuses to the eyes.

So get it checked by an ear/nose/throat specialist and see if surgery is an option or lead with your jab not your nose like I did.

If you are blowing air and/or mucus out of your nose, go to a doctor asap. That is not good or normal for a deviated septum.

A deviated septum is when the cartilige in your nose that separates your nostrils gets shifted to one side making it difficult to breath through one side.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you've got a deviated septum which blocks one of your nostrils, and also damage to your sinus cavity. The air/snot can't get out your nose so it takes the path of least resistance - through your sinuses and out your eye.

The damage to the sinus cavity could've occured when you broke your nose, or it could've been damaged by having too much pressure inside of it like if you plugged one nostril and tried to blow the other one that is blocked by a deviated septum. You blew too hard with nowhere for the air to escpae and the pressure caused the sinus cavity to partially rupture.

Get to a doctor.
