Quinton Jackson Signs Three-Year Deal With Wolfslair

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has signed a three-year deal with Wolfslair fight team in England.
Fighters Only revealed the signing on Wednesday.

“I feel like Wolfslair can make me go farther than I have been; I’m really excited about being able to travel there to train. The guys on the team, they like to laugh and joke around but they train hard and that’s me, that’s what I like to do,” said Jackson to Fighters Only. “What better team to join than one called Wolfslair? I’m a werewolf. It was my destiny. People don’t understand destiny but I do. Wolfslair is the most perfect team for me.”

Matt Hughes Knee Injury Unlikely To Require Surgery

Former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes announced on Tuesday that his injured knee will likely not require surgery, effectively clearing the way for an eventual return to the octagon to take on rival Matt Serra.

“Last Wednesday, I went in for my second MRI and also a stress x-ray. It all came back very positive and looks as though I will not need surgery,” wrote Hughes on Matt-Hughes.com. “I still have to go back for my three month check-up to find out more; but as of right now I can do more and start exercising a little bit.”

Hughes and Serra are expected to fight in the first-half on 2009.

Looking Ahead, Chuck Liddell vs. Forrest Griffin At UFC 92

It looks like the UFC is planing a light heavyweight title fight at it UFC 92 NYE show between Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin. The news was spilled by Chuck Liddells sponsor Iceman Rx is planing a contest that will give away a custom “Ice Mobile” Hummer H2. The contest concludes on Dec. 27 to coincide with Chucks appearance at UFC 92.

The only thing standing in Liddells way is an undefeated fighter named Rashad Evans, who he will be fighting in a little over a week at UFC 88 on Sept. 6 from the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Ga.

To hype December’s fight, Iceman RX is holding a sweepstakes starting on September 1 and ending on December 27 (to coincide with Liddell’s appearance at UFC 92). The winner receives a special edition Chuck Liddell Iceman Rx Hummer H2. (which I posted in the pictures section)
