Default Jackson Out. Diaz In...Reported by MMA Ring Report

[Link View Has Been Removed. Click Here To Unlock This Content.]

Fresh off his victory over Jeremy Jackson, Nick Diaz looks like he will be taking that spot against Dennis Hallman in the upcoming UFC 44, according to the Cesar Gracie camp.

Diaz isn't exactly an MMA household name. At only 19 years of age, he still has a long way to go in the sport, but in the gym, he has accomplished so much already. He's a lanky 6 feet tall and lean 170 lb. muscled Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt under the watch of Cesar Gracie in Concord Ca. With a wild stand up style and a powerful ground game, he has amassed a 7-2 record in under 2 years. He's already beaten such competition such as Joe Hurley, Chris Lytle, and now avenging 1 of his 2 losses against Jeremy Jackson. His only other loss was a decision to the 6-1 Kuniyoshi Hironaka. That very close Shooto bout could have gone either way. Only one of his wins has gone to a decision. The kid is a finisher.

Dennis Hallman will have his hands against this rising star. It might be a little too early for him to face seasoned veteran with over 30 fights, but if the young fighter does pull it off, he will land solidly in "A" class of the 170 lb. division

From what I understand Jeremy has already signed the contract. I also have heard a rumor that Nick was already supposed to have his shot in the UFC right after the king of the mountain tourny where Jeremy KOED him....

That's too bad for Jeremy. Hopefully he'll be back.

That is pretty stupid. Jeremy should get to keep his spot, if he wins bring in Diaz for the rubber match. I'm getting pretty tired of the UFC and the way they do ****. Let's bring back every old **** who's ever won a fight, but they'll be damned if they'll give a young guy a fight who has a loss. ghey
