  • NSB PICK 'EM 2019 #60 AND #61. 24th AUGUST 2019

    SATURDAY 24th AUGUST 2019

    Chelyabinsk, Russia (UTC+5)

    Sergei Kovalev vs Anthony Yarde

    and

    Hermosillo, Mexico (UTC-7)

Juan Francisco Estrada vs Dewayne Beamon

    BETTING ODDS:

    Kovalev: -200 Yarde: +150
    Estrada: -3000 Beamon: +1000 (x4 on Beamon)

    Ways fighters can win:
    Decision: WIDE or CLOSE
KO: EARLY (1-4), MID (5-8) or LATE (9-12)

Examples of the ways you can state your decision:

PICK EM CREW, Yarde, KO, Late x3
PICK EM CREW, BEAMON, DEC, CLOSE x2
If no multiplier is specified in your pick (ie x2, x3) then it will be assumed that no multiplier is being used (x1)
If you wish to pick a Draw result, simply state your Username, both fighter names and DRAW, ie:

PICK EM CREW, Estrada, Beamon, DRAW
IMPORTANT NOTE: NONE OF THE WBSS FIGHTS CAN BE SCORED A DRAW - ONE FIGHTER WILL ALWAYS BE DECLARED A WINNER. ANY UNCORRECTED DRAW PICKS ON THE WBSS WILL BE WASTED.

    NOTES:
-Picking the correct winner earns 20 pts
-Picking the correct method earns 10 pts
-Picking the correct detail is worth 10 pts
-Draws are worth 120 pts. A perfect pick without a multiplier is 40pts.

-CLOSE is <12 pts difference, or anything closer than 116-112 on all three scorecards. WIDE is >=12 pts difference, or anything equivalent to 116-112 on all three cards or wider.

-If you'd like to change your pick before the fight starts, post in this thread to do so. Ideally tag me so that I don't miss it.

-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 5 doubles and 3 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread.

OK Gentlemen, once again apologies for the delay in updating the leaderboard, but I'm afraid you're going to have to wait a little longer... I got a bit of a pitstop at home yesterday and today and then I'm away again but too much stuff IRL to do more on here that throw up this weeks Pick Em. Normal service should be resumed at the start of September.

So...one very intriguing match up and one which looks like a huge mismatch, but which we've included anyway being as how Juan Francisco is a P4P top ten lock in his absolute prime.

Kovalev vs Yarde. Which way to jump? Without a doubt Sergei has the vast edge in experience and the more proven skillset but he's also 36 years old and his two KO losses loom large especially when weighing him against a fearsome puncher like Yarde who's been tearing through the lower echelons of LHW much as Sergei was doing
6 or 7 years ago. Will you bet on youth and physicality or will the slightly worn veteran be able to utilise his skills and still formidable power to turn back the eager challenger?

    Good luck gentlemen.
