I'm not talking about who turned out to be the best draft picks after all said and done, but BEFORE the draft, who has been the most "sure-fire" draft prospect ever, according to the "experts" at the time?
I googled it, and without reading much, one article headline says that Jadaveon Clowney was... I don't remember there being nearly as much hype around him, and talk of him being "sure-fire" as I do the following: Andrew Luck, Robert Gallery, Julius Peppers, Peyton Manning, and Ryan Leaf, Jake Long, Chance Warmack, Mario Williams...
Usually Defensive linemen , and offensive linemen are given the "can't miss" grades... It's pretty rare to see a the "skill positions" (correct me if I'm using this term wrong), particularly QB, RB, and CB's given the "sure-fire, can't miss" approval.
