  • Comments Thread For: Ramirez vs. McKenzie: BoxingScene.com Staff Predictions

A chance encounter has Victor Ramirez and Ovill McKenzie vying for the cruiserweight crown Friday evening in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Ramirez was due to face World cruiserweight king Yoan Pablo Hernandez, but received an upgrade from interim to full titlist without so much as having to throw a single punch. The oft-injured Hernandez pulled out of their previously scheduled bout, abruptly announcing his retirement although his promoter Sauerland Event has since dismissed that claim.

Whatever the case, Hernandez is no longer in the picture as Ramirez (22-2, 17KOs) is officially recognized as a two-time cruiserweight titlist. The 31-year old saw his previous reign cut short by Marco Huck in Aug. '09, after which he chose to hang up the gloves.

As very few boxers in history have ever truly made a clean break from the sport - especially at a young age - Ramirez announced his ring return late in 2013.

Seven wins have followed, with his first six coming in a span of just 10 months. It led to his return to the title picture, scoring a 12-round decision over Ola Afolabi this past April in Buenos Aires. [Click Here To Read More]

he probly takes a dive as per franks instructions, if you cant knock him out early take the dive cause we arent geting the decision. How can he get ko'd by enzo, not slagging off enzo but he shouldnt be koing you somthings not right. lol.

Enzo has power, i don't know where you get that he has never hurt people he has 31 KO's in 39 wins so can drop you if you get hit bang on the chin. Shame he ran into a prime David Haye it all went downhill from there.

Mckenzie was knocked out cold and his eyes were closed. The referee had to hug him to stay up otherwise he was going face first into the canvas. I wonder what you watch sometimes with these stupid conspiracy theories. Mckenzie is a poor distance fighter before Askin he never won anything over a 6 round decision that was the first time he did that when he won a 12 round decision. You are forgetting Enzo is a former world champion, and a european champion which he won both titles by 1st round KO. To say he has 0 power is nonsense. They say that power is the last thing to go in a shot fighter.

ive just rewatched it, and no he never took a dive, but enzo throws slapping punches. McKenzie was probably drained thats why he faded. Conspiracy theories, youve been brain washed by the main stream media, your probably a white guy who wants to act black cause he's been brainwashed. You think the elite are multicultural? Conspiracy truths, moon landing was a lie, waco, roswell, mancunian candidate, 9-11, all government coverups to fool you.
