Golovkin was called out by Ward not the other way around. If Ward really wanted to fight him it would have been done at 164. Ward isn't an idiot. He knew any serious discussion would involve a catch weight. Fact is the fight was just talk between the two camps.

So he fought a bum that nobody knows at 168 and he's 'doing it'? get real. It was a cherry pick and everyone knows it.

Seeing as how Golovkin was dying to fight Chavez Jr. at one point and all his fans were on board.
Nobody is bigging up Chavez Jr. scalp. Bring up G all you want, it’s still a garbage name on any resume.

GGG fought VANES MARTIROSYAN @ 160 homie. How come you aren't giving him credit for that? I don't want to hear that Vanes was out 2 years, was 1-3 his previous 4 fights, that he was moving up blah, blah blah. So what?

He was just about 32 months removed from a MD win over Ishe Smith you hater! Your just jealous!!!

                  Daniel Jacobs, Canelo, Vanes, Canelo.

                  Wait, why is Vanes there?

Oh, it was because... Canelo failed a drug test and the fight got canceled 1? or 2? months away from the fight.

So why did he fight Vanes instead of somebody better? Well, the only other option was Derevyanchenko (since everyone else had fights anyways), who casuals have never heard of but boxing fans recognize was a good fighter.

So why did they not fight Derevyanchenko?

Because money drives this sport and also because the rematch with Canelo was clearly being moved to a September date. If Golovkin had a tough time against Derevyanchenko, he would need a lot more time to recoup since he isn't getting younger, pushing the fight back to May (which is a long ****ing time away).

Also, with HBO getting out of boxing, there was probably pressure from them to have the fight set for sure in September.

                  Context--- yeah, it's important.

Dude relax. I just did that to have some fun with my homie. No need for you to take it as a personal attack on GGG. I understand the context. That said, you come as a an excuse maker because he made the financial choice rather than choosing the best opponent.

Why you guys take every negative, sarcastic or joking post so personally is sad.

That's true, Dunn. He dragged a 154 pounder to fight at 160.

Not Erislandy Lara mind you. But a 154 pounder none the less.
