That had good reason the moment Oscar needed IV fluid transfusions to gain 2 lb and to be outweighed by Manny , thats dead man walking , if Oscar made the weight healthy and rehydrated to his normal 160 there would be no flip flop .

The pac-Oscar flip flop isn't the same. That was simply due to size and it had nothing to do with fear or ducking. Floyd-shane were same division and everyone was saying Floyd was a scared duck who would get ktfo
No-one said he would get KTFO. Floyd was the favourite for that fight. What that fight was Floyd actually taking a fight most of us wanted him too. We wanted the fight, and he gave it to us, so credit it to him for that.

The ducking accusations sprouted because Floyd actively DID look like he was ducking the fight at one point - he was giving reasons why Mosley wasn't worthy, he was a roider, a cheat etc. Until one day, we hear the fight was done. Maybe it was a deliberate tactic to fool everyone into thinking he was ducking Shane, but he absolutely went through a period of not wanting that fight.

Actually, Pac v DLH is a good comparison. Because that win is discredited for Pac because Oscar was a shrivelled mess. Similarly, the Mosley who fought Floyd looked terrible from the first round (and ever since). Both DLH and Shane looked like sh-t in these fights, despite both being well thought of in terms of how they would perform coming into the respective fights.

When it comes to historical revisionism, Pac vs DLH is actually worse. That fight is cited as Pac becoming a catchweight king who drained opponents.

Reality? Pac had little clout in the negotiations, everyone thought he was going to lose, the weight was at 147 only because anything more and Oscar would have looked like an even bigger cherry picker (being Manny had only ever had one fight at 135 at that point). They even had Manny wear his trainers for the weigh-in face off while Oscar went bear foot so as not to make the size discrepancy look ridiculous.

I don't think so. Mosley was a big underdog going into the fight and he lost by a wide margin as most fans and experts expected he would. The only surprise was when he badly hurt Mayweather in the second round. By the third round the fight returned to being an easy win for Mayweather. A big flip flop in a recent major fight was the Pacquiao-De La Hoya fight. Pacquiao was about a 4 to 1 underdog. The thinking was Oscar was way to big for Pacquiao. Oscar made weight in a strange way. Instead of taking off the last 6 or 7 pounds by drying out and then rehydrating after the weigh-in Oscar was at or under 147 a week or two before the fight. Oscar was weak and performed poorly. Pacquiao beat the hell out of him and sent him into retirement.

Mayweather vs Mosley by far. At least in recent history. Everybody was saying that Mosley punked Floyd. Hopkins was talking a lot of **** too back then. It was a good 24/7. Everybody was calling Brotha Naz the best trainer in boxing. Its all understandable Floyd knows how to bring the troll out of his fans and his haters. Thats why hes the highest paid athlete.

Most expected Mosely to lose TBH. Mosely right after Marg was different, but after his lay off, people kinda felt Mosely had little chance. Remember, Mosely had lost before...

I think those "He would never fight Mosley" thread were hilarious, I didn't see those sort of threads regarding Dela Hoya - Pacquiao. But yea the flip flop was hilarious, honourable mention to the Mayweather-Hatton flip flop too.

I think Trout/Cotto was tbh. I mean when Floyd fought Cotto, Cotto was a beast. After Trout mirrored the act, Cotto instantly became shot. Seriously, like a millisecond after the decision was announced.

Nothing close to the flip flip Floyd cheerleaders did with Cotto.

                    When Cotto fought Pac:

Flomo #1 - Oh he weight drained!!
Flomo #2 - Cotto washed up!!!
Flomo #3 - Pac cherry picking!
Flomo #4 - Cotto coming off a loss. Clottey whooped him yo!

Ahhh but then Floyd signs to fight Cotto:

Flomo #1 - Cotto is the #1 ranked JMW
Flomo #2 - Cotto ain't washed up! He beat Margarito in a rematch.
Flomo #3 - Better late than never.
Flomo #4 - Ya'll just hating for him trying to get that paper.
Flomo #5 - Better win for Floyd than Pac/Margarito.

It's a big one. Kind of understandable because of how pathetic Mosley looked, but Mayweather deserves so much more credit than he gets, because of all the pre-fight talk.
