  • What Top Rank Fails To Realize When They Make Non-Mexican Fighters Represent Mexico

What Top Rank fails to realize is that Mexicans simply do not sell and their fan base is disgustingly overrated, so making Tyson Fury wear Mexican colors and wave around the Mexican flag is futile. Let's take a look at all the Mexican champions who headlined a main event this year and see how big of a crowd they brought in. Note: This does not factor in the tickets they gave away.

Navarrete vs. De Vaca, August 17, 2019
    Venue: Banc of California Stadium
    Crowd: 3,944

Vargas vs. Kameda, July 13, 2019
    Venue: Dignity Health Sports Park
    Crowd: 2,730

Cancio vs. Machado ll, June 26th, 2019
    Venue: Fantasy Springs Resort Casino
    Crowd: 2,500

Valdez vs. Sanchez, June 6, 2019
    Venue: Reno-Sparks Convention Center
    Crowd: 2,412

Berchelt vs. Vargas ll, May 11, 2019
    Venue: Tuscon Convention Center
    Crowd: 4,424

Estrada vs. Rungvisai ll/Daniel Roman vs. TJ Doheny, April 26, 2019
    Venue: The Forum
    Crowd: 5,127

Santa Cruz vs. Rivera, February 16, 2019
    Venue: Microsoft Theater
    Crowd: 5,000

Munguia vs. Inoue, January 26, 2019
    Venue: Toyota Center
    Crowd: 7,408

So as you can see, Mexican champions can't even get other Mexicans to come out and watch them, what makes you think Mexicans are going to come out and buy tickets to watch a Gypsy in a sombrero? Epic fail by Top Rank

If someone's avatar had "White Power" and their sig as all white fighters, would that person still be on the site or banned?

Why is this obvious troll still allowed to post

Anything above 3k is strong by US standards. Devin Haney is fighting in the tiny as Hulu Theater and there's still plenty of tickets available. Shawn Porter fought in a completely empty arena against Ugas. One is supposed to be the best prospect in the sport and the other is supposedly an elite welterweight & PPV headliner. Even Deyonce fights have lots of comps and closed sections of the arena.

It's not just about selling tickets. For years Canelo and Chavez Jr. were getting ratings that American fighters could only dream of on HBO. Nobody is coming remotely close to the gates Canelo gets in Las Vegas. Ryan Garcia has 1 million more followers on Instagram than Wilder and 2 million more than Davis. Andy Ruiz was on Jimmy Kimmel. Mexican fighters are the most marketable fighters right now. Fighters of other races might be able to sell in America but they have a much lower ceiling.

LDBC at it again. He recently deleted his channel called Worldbreaker Fighting too. Rumor has it that he begged the LDBc for money and they said go kick rocks

No. They are not. They simply cannot sell tickets. Spence, Crawford, Davis, Wilder, Lomachenko, Pacquiao and Thurman all consistently draw in crowds of at least 10k, meanwhile mexican fighters are struggling. Also 3k isn't solid at all, maybe for mexicans since they can't sell, but to everyone else 3k is pathetic.

Valdez vs. Marriaga, April 22, 2017.
Valdez was able to thrill the 5,419 fans in attendance at the Stubhub Center on his way to a 12 round unanimous decision.

Valdez vs. Servania, September 22, 2017.
In front of a crowd of 4,103, Valdez managed to recover from a knockdown and score a knockdown of his own, en route to retaining his WBO title via unanimous decision after 12 rounds.

Berchelt vs. Roman, November 23, 2018
In front of a raucous crowd of 5,240 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas, fans witnessed one of the best fights of the year. Mexico’s Miguel Berchelt (35-1, 31 KOs) took on veteran of over 70 professional bouts Miguel Roman (60-13, 47 KOs) next to his hometown of Juarez, Mexico. The crowd was firmly in favor of Roman throughout the night in what turned out to be a memorable night of boxing.

Munguia vs. Smith, July 22, 2018.
Dangerous puncher Jaime Munguia (30-0, 25 KOs) defended his WBO junior middleweight world championship against former world champion Liam "Beefy" Smith (26-2-1, 14 KOs) via 12-round decision in the main event of HBO Boxing After Dark on Saturday, in front of 2,470 fans at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.

Ramirez vs. Ahmed, Febuary 3, 2018
In front of 3,200 in attendance Ramírez retained his WBO title against Ahmed via a 6th round stoppage win

Ramirez vs. Angulo, June 30, 2018
In front of a small crowd of 5,241 in attendance, Ramírez successfully retained his WBO title in defeating Angulo via unanimous decision.

Estrada vs. Orocuta, September 9, 2018
The violence swelled in Rounds 7 and 8 to the approval of the 4,019 in attendance at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Not sure whats funnier, the black power stuff or the fact you think Top Rank is making Fury wear the Mexican stuff. The idea of Top Rank actually having any control on what Fury says or wears, come on now.
