I wouldn't rate a degree in HR.

I handed in my dissertation a month ago for my MSc in HR Management and tbh it's OK if you want to go into HR BUT it will not guarantee you a job. I'm looking for jobs now and getting rejected by quite a few places purely because I lack specific HR experience. A lot of people on my course are in a similar situation (kind of weird when you haven't got your result yet too). Getting into HR is hard but once you are in, you are fine. I would do an Accounting degree if I was you though, my younger brother is doing Accounting and Finance and I'm basically making sure he has summer internships/jobs, does a placement in his third year so by the time he graduates he has a good grade for his degree hopefully AND a stacked CV/resume which is MORE important than your overall grade trust me. I have got good grades at University so far but I lack experience which is risky for an employer, I have no doubts that I could do the job but you have to see it from a recruiter/employers POV.

I don't know what a top up degree is, I think you are talking about a HND/HNC/Foundation year degree..If you are, I'd say it's not worth it IF you have the qualifications to get on to a BA/BSc. I'd spend the year thinking about what I want to do and once I've found out, apply and try and get some experience on the side.

HR = human remains.

No one will like you at any company if you are HR. Enjoy being a loner.
