PC: How is everything going Roger?
RM: Everything is good.
PC: Tim Coleman recently had to pull out of his fight with Vernon Paris. How is he doing now?
RM: Everything is working out well. His arm was hurt, so he didn't want to go in there with his arm hurting, but they can make the fight again. They make the fight again, then hey, we will go from there.
PC: I know you stay busy in the gym with your fighters. How are you holding up?
RM: Everything is well. I train a bunch of fighters. That's what I like to do, so I stay in the gym.
PC: I'm sure it occupies a lot of your time as well as keeps you in the loop.
RM: That's the only way for me.
PC: I wanted to get your thoughts on some upcoming fights. Who do you like in the fight between Miguel Cotto and Ricardo Mayorga and why?
RM: Well, I like Cotto as a fighter, but ****, I don't know how good Cotto is because Pacquiao whooped his ass. But everybody knows he [Pacquiao] got **** in him. They already got some **** on Shane. As soon as that fight was announced, they told Shane, "Look, you gotta take a test." Well, if Shane gotta take a test, then what the **** you gonna do? You a fighter too, so both of y'all have to take a test. This mother****er right here, you know, he got illegal **** in him. You ain't gotta tell me that. They need to test him fa sho.
PC: He's never failed any tests though Roger...
RM: (Cutting in) The one time he took a blood test, he didn't fail it, but Erik Morales beat the **** out of him. That's why he ain't never fought my nephew. My nephew is the only mother****er that can make that ***** take a test. He don't want to fight my nephew because he don't want to do a test. Erik Morales whooped his ass when he couldn't use nothing because he gave blood, so what does that tell you? He ain't have that **** in him. He don't want to fight my nephew.
PC: Do you think we will see Floyd in the ring in 2011, even if it's not against Manny Pacquiao?
RM: I mean, if Floyd wants to fight...the whole thing is this, Floyd and Pacquiao would have been fought if that mother****er would take the test. He don't want to take the test. See, he can get away with it with all of the rest of these mother****ers because ain't nobody big enough to make him take the test but my nephew, and that's why the fight ain't never happened because the ***** don't want to take the test. He gonna say some **** about not taking a test 3 days before the fight. What the **** you mean you not gonna take a test 3 days before the fight? That should already tell you what the **** he's on. Everybody knows what the **** he's on. He don't want to do the test at all. That's why the fight ain't never happen. Listen, this mother****ing fight could bring in $100 million. Anytime a mother****er don't want to take a test in a fight that can generate more than $100 million, that tells you something's wrong with them.
PC: Switching gears to a fight that took place in January. What were your thoughts on the Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander fight?
RM: Devon Alexander, that mother****er gave up. He gave up. That boy [Bradley] was taxing his ass. Once he got cut, it was over anyway. Once the guy cut him, he act like he didn't want to fight.
PC: You're pretty much saying they don't make them like they used too.
RM: Hell no! Once he got cut, he act like he didn't want to fight. He used that as an excuse for him to quit. That's all that was. It wasn't about nothing else. You gotta do what you gotta do because that's a part of boxing. I realized in boxing, you got some good ones out there, but it ain't gonna never be...boxing ain't gonna never be like it was. Boxing ain't gonna ever be like it was because they don't have enough guys in the sport to show what they are made of. That's why it ain't never gonna be like it was. Now that my nephew has walked out of boxing for all of these months, I don't even watch boxing. I don't even watch boxing because when I look at boxing, I want to see a mother****er with some skills and the ability to do something. I don't see it, so I don't want it.
PC: That's a huge statement coming from you because you are a historian of the sport and usually follow it pretty closely.
RM: I stopped watching boxing. People were like, "You gonna watch Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander?" I said, "No, I'm not gonna watch them mother****ers." I ended up watching it with my brother Jeff because I thought it would be a competitive fight, and then I ended up seeing a mother****er just say, "**** it!" Devon Alexander coughed it up. Timothy Bradley had his number, that's all. Besides Timothy Bradley and a couple of other guys, I don't see nothing out there that is appealing in boxing. When I say appealing, to me, I mean when I turn my TV on, I want to say, "That mother****er there can fight." I don't see that. If I don't see that, I don't watch it and I don't see that, so I don't even watch boxing. People talk about this guy and that guy. I don't give a **** about all of that ****. I look for...it's just like Muhammad Ali was and that's why there is only one Muhammad Ali!
PC: You like to see someone with a major skill set for you to tune in?
RM: Muhammad Ali, Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns and people like that. In the old days, it was Ray Robinson and Joe Louis and people like that. Those are great fighters, but this **** they doing today, I don't watch that ****. I really don't watch boxing. I train fighters, but I don't like watching boxing. I don't watch it because there ain't nothing there for me to watch. Everyone says, "You gotta watch this guy because he can do this." Please! Amir Khan already done got his ass whooped once and it will happen again soon. The thing about Amir Khan, so what? He ain't even from over here, number one. Amir Khan ain't no mother****er that will make me stay home and watch him. There ain't no Ray Leonard, there ain't no Tommy Hearns, there ain't no mother****ing Marvin Haglers, there ain't no Sugar Ray Robinson, there ain't no Joe Louis and there ain't no Muhammad Ali. So like I say, they put them mother****ers back in the ring and I will watch the sport again. There ain't no Michael Spinks out there. What I'm saying is there ain't nothing; no brothers that I want to see other than my nephew out there and I show wouldn't watch them sorry ass two white boys, the Klitschkos. Them mother****ers can't fight a ****ing lick anyway. I wouldn't even turn my TV on and watch them mother****ers if they gave me HBO for free. I'm just saying. That **** don't even appeal to me. Boxing is all about skillful fighters. Everybody watched Ray Leonard because Ray Leonard was a star. Everybody watched Tommy Hearns because Hearns knew how to box and how to put them mother****ers away. Everybody watched Roberto Duran because he was a great fighter. That's what boxing is about. I don't watch a bunch of two boring mother****ers with no skills punch on each other. It's just a waste of my time. When it comes to boxing for me, I don't turn my TV on to watch that ****. I don't watch no Klitschkos or none of them mother****ers because number one, they can't ****ing fight. I don't watch Pacquiao either because he ain't ****. He's a sorry ass too. He fights people that are bigger than him in weight, but he got that **** in him, so I don't watch his mother****ing ass either.
