People should be more worried about all the dirty and illegal tactics Broner was using and being allowed to use by the crooked ref. And if Maidana was given adrenaline to breath it should be justified after that illegal after the bell blow that Broner hit him with.

My feeling. Equilazer and fair. The ILLEGAL shot dazed him bad.

Floyd fans will get it. When ortiz got dirty, floyd rightfully reponded in kind.

that article is kind of interesting, Conte suspects Clottey of using it versus Pacquiao:

Just read a very interesting article by Margaret Goodman in the latest issue of the RING, re the Pac Clottey bout and a call she got from Victor Conte of BALCO.

Conte told Goodman that he beleived that Clottey was illegally being administered a Legal PED during the bout.

Given that Clottey didn't do much in the bout and got practically whitewashed by Manny, I doubt many if any will even raise an eyebrow re the accusation. But Conte's theory on what was going on is interesting none the less.

Epinephrine is typically used by a cutman to stop Nose Bleeds by a fighter.

A cotton swab is soaked in Epinephrine and the swab is then placed up the nostril. If done correctly, it can stop the bleeding within a minute of application and it can stem the bleeding for up to 15 mins.

As Goodman notes, many to MOST cutman do this practice incorrectly and it doesn't work. The swab can not be placed too far up the nostril and you don't want your fighter to inhale when it is being applied. Or they don't apply direct pressure.

Ok, so how does this apply to Josh Clottey in his bout with Manny? Conte noted that during the bout, Clottey's corner was sticking swabs up Clottey nostrils.........but Clottey didn't have any nose bleeds. Additionally Lenny Dejesus, Clottey's cutman, could be heard between rounds (during each rest from 6 to 12) telling Clottey to breath Deeply.

Clottey seemed to be renergized between rests, but as we all know, he wasn't very effective.

Conte explains that Epinephrine can be used as a stimulant to increase oxygen uptake, improve exertion and reaction time and stimulate the central nervous system. He claims he did this with Tim Montgomery in 2001 using a Primatine Mist.

Goodman points out the several dangers in using Epinephrine in this manner as well. IE Strokes and Heart Attacks, dizzyness etc.

I found this fascinating as here was a Legal Drug, that if used correctly, is an excellent tool that every corner should be able to use as necessary.

But POSSIBLY, and becuase there is really no way to test for this, I certainly can accuse Clottey's corner of any nefarious activity and neither does Goodman, this same tool is being used ILLEGALLY and can be hidden pretty easily as far as detecting it's application.

It took a Crook, Conte, to be able to "see" that it might be being used this way.

Lol. What's it matter? Didn't have any effect on the fight, Maidana whooped his ass the 11 rounds before that.

Broner was constantly allowed to drive his elbow in to Maidana's face, push Maidana, hold both of Maidana's arms, and finally land a huge, potentially fight changing punch AFTER the bell on an unaware Maidana who obviously did feel the punch and was affected by it. Not a single point deduction, and and the only hard warning came in the 12th round.
