Love him or hate him, but Bob is 100% right on this one. It's time to move away from both HBO & SHO Time.

If Top Rank really is done with HBO, and HBO's boxing budget continues the way it continues, HBO Boxing will become the default home of Golden Boy Promotions (rather than Arum's histerics, Golden Boy has made it clear that he's largely on ESPN2 to help build exposure for his young prospects; by the time the Tecate-sponsored deal is through, Oscar would have Canelo Alvarez and hopefully a handful of fighters to package for HBO).

Should have been promoting big fights on ESPN and Fox anyway. This is good news one of the main reasons for me having HBO was for boxing.

We still have no idea if ESPN is cutting a check here, or if Bob Arum went into his pocket (or someone else's pocket) to set the stage for a Top Rank Boxing platform.
