First, nobody serious is saying he should get 50% vs AJ. Secondly, who cares about the original question when it's just a guess and we won't find out unless they actually fight. Playing guessing games isn't going to prove a point, better to just go on the facts and that is that Wilder isn't a huge draw in the US. He does decent numbers at the gate but it's nothing to write home about

Eric Molina, a common opponent for comparison. Both defended their belts early against him.

Wilder earned $1.4 million, watched by approx 9,500 live and 630,000 on showtime.

Joshua earned approx $5 million from uk only (not reported what he earned elsewhere); in front of approx 25,000 live and 360,000 on showtime as well as 450,000 on sky ppv in the uk.

Obviously Joshua and wilder have both risen significantly since then but any consideration to who the draw remains is within those details.

Realistically wilder could only ppv against Ortiz outside of the uk heavyweights (Joshua, fury and whyte) at the moment.

Depending on how well the fight drew on BT Sport Box Office, Wilder and Tyson Fury just split $25m-$30m, with the rematch expected to draw massively more than that.

Anthony Joshua is a massive draw; let's not ignore reality though.
Fury and Wilder aren't coming close to splitting that much money. But it's no surprise that the money keeps on growing in the eyes of Wilder fans to go with the absolute delusion of him being a money maker and being worth half of the pot against Joshua. Sorry, bit this is all make believe.

They made about 7-8 Mill each, tops.

No. But it still allows Joshua to be paid significantly more than Wilder will ever earn.

Once the Fury fights are out of the way, Wilder is going back to peanuts. Fans in the US bought the PPV because Fury was the dance partner. No one else will allow Wilder to make that kind of money again unless it's Anthony Joshua.

This is exactly what is wrong with this forum. Why do you care so much about the money these guys make? I'm being serious. Can you please explain and make me understand?

Forget 50% just give Wilder the American side.

Wilder-Fury 2 does 1 million buys in the US + 1 million PPV buys in the UK.

It will be the biggest heavyweight fight of all time.

So they can justify who's fighter is ducking by out pricing themselves or low balling.
