ggg has 3 belts in a division. when has canelo done that? when has ggg dropped his belt and moved down to avoid a big fight? canelo drained himself down to a division for years and lost to a welterweight. ggg fought a welterweight and you went crazy. only difference is ggg didn't lose like bum canelo did just standing there getting pot-shotted forever. you think ggg wouldn't fight floyd??? lmao! its only a risk to canelo because he sucks! stop overrating this guy simply because floyd beat him. just call him what he is. a cherry picker. i know its bad luck that you got 2 in a row but reality is reality.

The boards were non stop flooded heading into GGG/Lemieux and same idiots like you said wow look how popular he is on these boards that means he's going to do 500-600k PPV Buys. That's what fools were actually saying. Then it bombs does only 150k. Canelo/Cotto same amount of traffic on boxingscene but it does 900K PPV buys. Because REAL people care about Canelo and Cotto and couldn't care less about GGG. He is only know in this little bubble of die hard boxing fans. And post like this only create messageboard wars that the avg joe never sees or cares about and does NOTHING for GGG big picture.

You idiots think if you talk about GGG more then Floyd, Manny, Canelo, Cotto on a phuking messageboard that means he's in the same class as them. He's not.
Hold on so Canelo-Cotto did 900k so people care about Canelo. Then Canelo-Smith did like 250k, do they not care about Canelo anymore? Or does having a good dance partner actually matter? Or do you just want to keep on your GGG is a nobody rhetoric forever?

I like GGG! Excellent fighter but their are some who are trying to RUSH him into Super Stardom

Forbes might be PROJECTING a bit with this Article! Take care of Jacobs tomorrow and find a way to get Canelo in the ring with you even if it means taking that **** deal that is on the table to get Canelo in the ring!

Very marketable guy though as his English continues to improve!

Chavez Jr is mexican and has a legendary daddy and he's never reached the heights that Canelo has. Marquez is Mexican and put Pacquaio to sleep and still never reached the status Canelo has. The idea he's just mexican so he's huge is stupid. It helps but there are many reason why Canelo attracts fans other mexicans and other fighters don't. There's an "IT" factor that some fighters have. Manny had it, Oscar had it ect. Nobody gave a phuk about the Philippines in boxing. They don't make up a significant part of the US population and nobody said being that nationality was an asset to a boxer until Manny exploded and crossed over. Being from Khazakstan isn't holding GGG back. It's being old and having wasted his career fighting bums has. He needs to fight better competition and sacrifice to get big name. Manny took risks and got the type of fights he needed to get to get to that next level. GGG has done the opposite and found excuses to not make those fights. He wants PPV superstar status without doing what those PPV superstar did to make fights fans cared about. If Manny doesn't move up to fight Barrera, then Morales, Marquez and stayed at bantomweight when all the better fights were at featherweight and superfeatherweight nobody cares about him. Then leaped up multiple weights to land Oscar fight. Manny could of stayed at a shyt weight class till he was 35 and made excuses telling the Barrera/Morales/Marquez of the world they need to come down to my weight. Could of told Oscar you need to come down to 140 and none of these fights happen and he's not a cross over star.

Part of why people care about Canelo and not GGG is he's only 26 and has already fought Floyd, Cotto, Chavez, Trout, Mosley, Lara, ect and has moved up and down weight to make fights fans want. GGG refuses and his fans just want him to be given the status other fighters had to take in the ring. Canelo fighting a unknown UK fighter and drawing over 50,000 fans MORE then Manny did in his prime by the way, doing double PPV sales then what GGG did fighting Lemiuex in his biggest fight of his career speaks to the difference. Of course having a good dance partner matters see Manny's flop numbers against Rios, Algieri and Vargas for proof. But it's not anybody but GGG's fault that he turned down 168 to fight Ward and other big names. That he turned down 154 for Canelo and is now talking about turning down 15m at 160 to fight in Khazakstan for peanuts. He's 35 and been turning down better dance partner fights that might take him to that next level with 1 excuse after the next. Mr 154 or 168 SMH

So far Golovkin has literally wiped out and embarrassed anyone in the MW division who was willing to fight him. It is was it is. His goal is to unify the division plain and simple. Yet some still criticize him. For what? Jacobs tomorrow and if all goes well BJS (?) in June. After that Golovkin can move up. There's no one else left in the division who has the balls to face him.

When guys will hand a belt over to him rather than fight him, says a lot. And Canelo did this- not a weak champion. The guy has plowed through every middleweight out there. He's earned his respect.

They keep invoking the name Ward, who is on the verge of retiring. Seems Ward is the only competitive matchup for a guy they say hasn't done ****. It's like asking Salka to fight Mayweather. Unbelievable hate.

When you start your article with a bold face lie it's hard to take anything else serious

"When he fights Danny Jacobs on HBO PPV on Saturday (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT), Golovkin will be basking in the adulation of 20,000-plus fans in a sold-out Madison Square Garden"

Not a sell out you can buy 8 tickets in a row in any section you want and it's the day before the fight.
