Why is this news? Because Occasio-Cortez sponsored it? You win some, you lose some.

Its news because after praising this Green New Deal, not a single Democrat voted Yes, even the ones who co sponsored the bill. You'd think if they thought it was such a good proposal they'd put their name behind it with a Yes vote, but they didn't which shows their hypocrisy and willingness to pander to their progressive base without actually committing any action.

No one was going to support it Jim. We all knew that. It was only put to a vote because Ocassio-Cortez is so popular among young Dems and the progressive base. If this didn't get voted on it would have alienated voters and donors.

I figured you'd get that which is why I was surprised to see this thread. Frankly, no other freshman congressperson even gets this thing voted on.

This is more an example of AOC's power than her weakness.
