I thought Holy field beat Lewis in the rematch. Overall, Holy field was a much better and greater fighter than Lewis.

I respect the hell out of him even though I guarantee you he did performance enhancing drugs that were banned and the head butting tactics. Boxing can be a very dirty sport and tons and tons of fighters have illegal tricks to make sure they can get the W. Tyson would throw elbows a lot (as did many fighters), James Toney used his head a lot in fights, and the list goes on. What about Ali holding Frazier's head the whole second fight so stuff like that just happens in boxing.

I have to say that was a nice fight against Moore the 2nd time around, he layed him out quite a few times.

Despite all the all nonsense and blemishes to Holyfield, what I do have respect for is him going against all the doubts and nay sayers, saying hes too old to fight, too small a heavyweight and yet winning still and being dedicated.

At least thats good.

Yeah, I suppose it doesnt matter to an extent because it is quite dirty. Not to mention crooked ref's and all kinds of nonsense. Dempsey himself advocated getting in some cheap shots, which is maybe where Tyson got it from since he was a big fan of his.

That is something to marvel at, considering many of those wins came at the wrong side of 30, especially when he beat Tyson, busting him up and bullying the "Baddest Man on the Planet".

Lewis, as much as I liked him as a British heavyweight in the 90s, did not have the same level of heart, determination or skill as a prime Holyfield. His resume doesn't stack up to the man dubbed "Commander Vander" either. On what basis does one rank Lewis higher? I find little argument to favour him, in the 90s being the key phrase here.
It is clear that Lewis was the best heavyweight of the second half of the 90s and Holyfield or Bowe was the best of the early 90s. However I think in winning two of their three fights that Bowe proved to be the best heavyweight of the early 90s. So to me even when Holyfield was at his best at heavyweight he was not the best heavyweight of that particular era although it is of course very close. Now Holyfield was more than likely over the hill and on the downward slope when he fought his two fights with Lewis but in my opinion Lewis won both fights and the version of Holyfield he beat on both occasions were still very good versions of Holyfield. The rest of the records of both fighters during the 90s are fairly close when you take into account the quality of opponent, how they were defeated as well as the losses both sustained. I give Lewis the slight edge taking all that into account.

"However I think in winning two of their three fights that Bowe proved to be the best."

Bowe won the first fight, Holyfield won the second fight, and Holyfield's heart condition won the third. Bowe was finished but Holyfield said that he thought he was going to have a heart attack if he threw anymore punches to try and finish him. I KNOW that is what happened in the third fight. Bowe got lucky. Holyfield committed boxing suicide and basically knocked himself out. He knew he couldn't catch a second wind, and instead of quit, he just threw a barrage of stupid punches and that was all she wrote. Don't you dare disrespect Evander by saying Bowe was better. Last time I checked, Holyfield is an ATG Heavyweight, top ten Heavyweight, and the greatest Light Heavyweight of all-times. Bowe ate himself out of greatness and Holyfield was his claim to fame. I liked Bowe but let's be real here.

Holyfield used the "heart attack" excuse for losing the Moorer fight. He had a different illness excuse for the final Bowe fight.

Its a fight. You do whatever you can to win because you're opponent is trying to do the same. Sometimes its subtle, sometimes its not, but Evander Holyfield is a fighters fighter. You do what you can get away with.
