He was also an elite ring general. One of the best ever at cutting off the ring at HW. He was an intelligent fighter in general, at least he was up until he fought Ali, after which he lost his way. He was brilliant at steering opponents into his power, and he was one of the physically strongest HW's off all time.

Also, anyone who says Foreman threw 'arm punches', dksab.

Sorry but that is the truth. One of those myths that always pops up with no basis in reality. His technique was obviously different to most, but by no means were his shots arm punches.

Wilder is getting buzzed, hurt and rocked by the Molina and Duhaupas of this world, having to take them into deep water in the 9th and 11th rounds to stop them.

They are not comparable AT ALL.

I can definitely see the comparison to a very early george foreman before his style totally changed. After that not so much, foreman changed his haymakers into tighter hook/uppercut hybrids similar to what vitali klitschko threw. I don't see wilder's style evolving in such a way.

The early comparison is not that bad. People here blindly worship anything old, classic, whatever and get angry at you for making such comparisons. Everyone who fought in the 70s was magical and had twinkle toes.

Anyone who thinks Foreman's defense was horrid needs to watch another sport. Too much DKSABs on this board.

The closest to a modern day George Foreman is Jarrell Miller.
