Has American HW boxing ever looked worse? This was a dreadful fight between two of the better American HW's. Tony Thompson, 44 years old, looked like he got the call to fight yesterday and rolled off his coach. Spent the entire fight plodding forward. Thankfully he didn't get a heart attack.

Malik Scott on the other hand is a very low quality fighter who has no punching power.

If this is what Wilder has to choose between, it doesn't look good.

At face value there is a greater than even chance it was.

Therefore I think that a REAL Malik Scott vs Deontay Wilder match may be in order.

If we have to keep up this Western zone title charade then might as well determine who the best yank really is.

Taking a dive almost always comes through fear or intimidation. If I fight Andre Ward knowing full well that I can beat him, why would I take a dive? It's not like they can sue me because I failed to cheat. There's also the fact that Wilder doesn't even bring in enough money to warrant cheating. I seriously doubt that Haymon would blow through hundreds of thousands of dollars for a guy who isn't even ready for PPV.

I've never understood the logic of accusing a fighter of taking dives. A fighter is more likely to appear on a network again if he gives a good account of himself in a loss, and would simply take the briber's position if he ended up winning. Unless there were mobsters behind the scenes telling Scott that his family would be murdered, he took no dive. Wilder just happens to hit really hard.

At one time Thompson did actually have some skills now he looks old fat slow and tired because he is old fat slow and tired. Thompson proved once and for all that he is done and he should retire. And if I heard the announcers say how great Scott looked one more time I really believe I would have puked. There was also way to much hinting around going on, for my liking, that Wilder may actually fight Scott, I feel that puke coming on again. But it really would not surprise me if the fight happened. And I also praised PBC for a recent card so I will be honest about this one. The main event sucked horribly and I cannot imagine any casual fans having any interest with the fight what so ever.
