You clearly have not lived in an area where drugs have decimated communities. Nor have you had friends or family whose lives have been destroyed by highly addictive drugs such as opiates, crack, meth, etc. it's easy to be idealistic from the comfort of your cushy, sheltered life. Live in it, be on the wrong end of it, and then tell us how drugs are not harmful to individuals and communities.
