Stop with this whole legitimate talk, he fought ortiz who had beaten Berto and what exact has berto done or for that matter Ortiz.
Ortiz had at least beaten a top ranked WW at the time, and was the #2 WW after Pacquiao. He was the only other legit fight for Floyd at the time.

This place went from "If Floyd fights Canelo, it's a joke" in September to "Floyd is ducking Canelo" in December. What changed???

Ortiz beating Berto and having a draw with Peterson (which you could argue that Ortiz won, and that doesn't look so bad now) > Anything Canelo has done

Canelo hasn't fought a legit Top 154 lb fighter since an old Rhodes in 2011. Canelo-Trout, and the winner can fight Mayweather.

By the way, the bolded is probably one of the most moronic things I've heard on here. Sig worthy, no offense man. Who generates more money , PPV's, and overall revenue than Floyd??? No one at the moment

Here we go with the excuses. Marquez clearly sacrificed some speed for power knowing that he has the more accurate punches. It doesn't take a mike Tyson punch to shut the lights out. That was a picture perfect shot, and u could bet your bottom dollar Marquez practiced that shot til he was blue in the face. So quit crying!

Ridiculous? How many people are in Mexico alone? Exactly, now add all of latin south america..even if he only had 10% of a fan base in south america that would outnumber Floyd's a number of times over. They offered the kid $20 million to do appearances on a dance show just because an interview of his shattered all viewership records recorded in the south of america's. It's one thing to be a fan it's another thing to be completely devoid of open mindedness. My wife hates boxing but loves canelo because of his looks..that should tell you plenty about the kids star power.

So Ortiz beating Berto was earth shattering? Really like Ortiz isn't a C level fighter at best..G T F O H!!! Canelo has more straps and more defenses of those straps than Ortiz had...you guys want to talk about excuses hop out of the fandom shoes and you'd realize i'm on the money on this one. You idiots didn't know who trout was a few months ago now he's the man to beat to get Mayweather..fact is Mayweather hasn't beat a legit 154 fighter either..he beat a guy too lazy to make weight at 147 and i'm a fan of the man too.

He doesn't cry after he loses like a baby. More respect for Manny in defeat. It's not always about how you win so much as how you lose. He jumped in then stumbled when he missed and got caught, that's all. His fans are crying big time, but not Manny. Much respect for this and Congrats to Marquez.

Actually I've known about Trout for several years. My mother is from New Mexico, and I remember visiting back in 05' I believe, and a couple friends of mine down in Las Cruces were telling me about Trout. Of course I didn't really "know" about him until i saw a card back in the summer of 07' at this Casino in ABQ, Trout was on it and stopped this unknown Mexican fighter, and looked good. I've been trying to follow him ever since.

I don't care how many defenses Canelo has, he hasn't had a legit good/solid win yet.

I'm sorry but at 154 Canelo's resume >>>>> Floyds. Only reason Cotto was/is at 154 is because he's too lazy to lose weight and i've been a fan of Cotto's since he was an amateur. Also Trouts resume at 154 only has Cotto's name on it that can validate him too..so again how is Trout the man to beat?
Oh wait that's right..everyone should fight Floyd after his fans put them through a thousand wars..it doesn't matter when he fights floyd..he's going to be a problem..so would sergio who cleaned out 154 when he was there..so would Trout since you want to mention him. I'll tell you who Floyd is going to fight..he's going to slide on down to 147 work something out with Tim's manager behind Arum's back and fight Bradley or someone beatable...even though he said he wasn't ever coming back to 147 when asked about what weight he'd fight Manny at.

I see Manny is in good condition in this fight, his speed and aggressiveness is like from the "old" him, how he quickly to drive in and step out. But that clean perfectly executed straight right that stopped the fight. Pac's punch easily connected in round 5 and 6 if it goes like that I can see marquez going down in the latter rounds. But again its boxing, there will always be a surprise and it was a beautiful right straight punch!
