  • Pacquiao Robinson are they cut in the same cloth?

    Challenging the status quo.

Robinson was and is the most purest pugilist there was. That said. This is to make another argument of why Pac is up there with him.

It was rare to get title shot in SUGAR RAY ROBINSON'S Era and there was only one champion. And you know why SUGAR RAY ROBINSON is the greatest because of how he changed the sport and because he was so dominant. Like PACQUIAO he is dominant. And SUGAR RAY ROBINSON at one point went 129-1-2(85)

This is to show that they are cut in the same cloth. Both made an impact in boxing history.

-The level of talent and competition during SRR era was way far below with few boxers are competing and majority in the US land only, unlike today almost every country had their own share of talents as boxing is a more globalized now than before so in terms of opposition it's lesser during SRR era than today.

-SRR era were in the pool of 150 million compare to the present boxers who's pool is in the 7 billion people. The best of the best is more filtered down in today's competition.

-Putting that in perspective. The level of competition now is far more skillful than during those time Boxing was being learned in the arts of the Sweet Science. After all, we advance as a society. Cars evolve, technology evolve, people get better, Olympic times are broken.

-Sugar Ray has more than a hundred fights before getting defeated. As an amateur boxer he got 85 wins , 60 KO's and 40 of that KO's is in the 1st round that's even vicious than Tyson's KO records. Manny Pacquiao is also up there in that level but with a different Feat , 8 Division titles, 5 lineal titles a Welterweight Champ who's stature and weight class classification should be 2 divisions down and that's what makes Manny Pacquiao very Special.

That said, this video doesn't mean one is better than the other. It is only to say they are both greats in the game of pugilism.

Here's a guy who realized how Pac has been fighting handicapped for most of his career.

He realized Pac was small. He gave away his size, his reach. Throughout his career he fought bigger men and found away to win his fights.

At this point in time. Pac is a 140 pounder who fights in a welterweight division. That speaks volumes. He's been fighting so many of his fights in welterweight when he wasn't suppose to.

That's what greatness is about. Having so many disadvantages he still powers through.

Imagine, if Pac was as big as his opponents in both height and reach what would have been the outcome? That's the very definition of pound for pound. Or imagine if his opponent are as big as him what would have happened to his opponents? That's what make Pacquiao great. He fought at a disadvantage and found away to win every time. Giving away height, weight and reach. That makes his wins ever better.

yes, they are both great fighters

just like, for example..... Juan Manuel Marquez

IF Pacquiao is better than Marquez, he never proved it when they were both in the ring at the same time

        despite having 4 attempts

there are MANY great fighters..... more than a hundred

many of those great fighters, are cut from a similar cloth to Robinson..... despite the fact that SRR obviously achieved more than any of them

guys like Marquez and Pacquiao and Mayweather

        btw.....

Marquez fans, and Mayweather fans..... do not feel the need to minimize SRR's resume/career in order to justify why their guy is great

        just saying

I have to cut him some slack. He had to be a monster in the ring and he was. I guess he was a beast inside and out of the ring.

                    Morales>Barrera>Marquez

                    JMM is a great fighter

but JMM of 2011 is like a b*t**
he discovered a new fighting style
and thats stepping on opponents lead foot to limit his movement, to make him off-balance

but JMM of 2012 is worst
He hired a known PED dealer
                    the 39yr old Hulkamania!!

i wont be surprise if he already sold his soul to the darkside
