    i like that jack could absorb info from many sources. like choinsky(sp?), he learned a lot of slip moves and tricks in jail with joe.

    jack, despite what some peeps might say, was a pretty smart guy. this showed in his boxing tactics and also his love of fine music and even study of other languages and cultures.

    even his thoughts on how a person can stay fit are very well thought out.

      There is no douting that Jack Johnson was rather intelligent and in the prize ring he had one hell of a boxing brain, such a clever and scientific fighter.

        Johnson and Gans were good friends and Gans was going to train him for the Jeffries fight, but Gans was dying from TB.
