The other WW champions at the time were offered similarly huge pay days to fight Brook in the US or UK and none of them even mentioned him, it is common knowledge he was being avoided.

The real problem with his career is that he wasted years with Frank Warren, as soon as he got with Hearn his career got some traction. His fights with N'dou and Hatton were made into much bigger events than the quality of the fight justified.

As I said you can be critical of the matchmaking with GGG and Spence, but Brook made the final call and publicly against Hearns wishes with Spence. But in 2 fights he became a multi-millionaire. Imagine he doesn't fight GGG, those guys still avoided him and he ended losing his belt to Spence anyway for £1-2 million...that would have been a **** up
Inaccurate post. He had a signed contract from Vargas to unify and decided to take GGG fight. He was not being avoided by ww champs.

Kell Brooks greed for money ruined his career. No one forced him to fight golovkin and no one forced him to starve himself back to 147.

        Brook did it by himself.

Who knows he would probably been found out earlier had he campaign in America so maybe he got the most out of his ability fighting in 3 big fights and became a world champion
          This.

Brook could have developed into a better fighter had he fought more in America and win

All the Mexicans and Black Americans in the US are better fighters than brits and euros

It's sad at this point. Why throw the guy in there at 160 with a killer when he's 147?
He wanted it and got millions. He's set for life now. He would have never beaten spence or crawford.

Jesus, everyone complains about promoters protecting their fighters, not making the tough fights in favour or Uber drivers and front of house staff at Kebab shops, fair enough.

Now we have threads blaiming a promoter for allowing his fighter to fight the best when the fighter wants to, this is insane.

All i know is he needs to stay busy until he fights somebody. Sitting around till he gets a phone call aint gonna help things. But yeah i kinda blame Hearn to a certain extent

It's fashionable to hate Hearn on here.

None of his fighters talk bad about him, but he's ruined their careers by getting big fights for them according to the idiots on here.

Hearn is a shrewd operator and a very greed one that won't mind sacrificing his best talent just for what he's going to achieve in short term.

Brook had so many options at 147 but he manipulated Brook and his team to do what Khan did, albeit against a very dangerous opponent by dangling money in their faces.
Hearn a promoter so it should be expected that he’s all about the $ and treats his fighters like commodities

For me the difference between what Khan did and what Brook did is that Khan wasted years of his career chasing a big PPV fight with Mayweather or PAC, he was inactive had no leverage and wasn’t considered among the best at WW and his name wasn’t in the discussion to fight any top WW , So he jumped at the chance to be in a Big PPV even if it was a suicide mission

Brook had a strap , was considered among the top WW and could sell relatively well at home and had endless options at WW as far as notable names that could have paid him well and would have been favoured in almost all of them. But for whatever reason who ever managed / guided his career thought it was best for him to jump 2 divisions and face the man no wanted to fight in a fight he almost stood no chance of winning and basically derailed his career
