  • Eddie Hearn doesn't allow bids on AJ fights

He said Whyte is the only one forcing Hearn to take open bids to maximize his earnings.

Espinoza also talks about the Wilder/Ortiz being done and Fury is not next like Hearn claimed.

When was the last time a Deontay Wilder fight went to purse bids?

You guys are getting mistaken between purse bids and the type of bids Espinoza is talking about. DAZN's deal with Joshua is the right of first and last refusal. Other networks can bid for his fights and then DAZN has the right to match that offer. What Espinoza is saying is it never gets to that point since no bidding is available.

The Povetkin fight. But what does that have to do with this topic?

To be fair to Joshua, the only fights in his career that could have gone to purse bid would be Martin, Brezeale, Molina, Klitschko, Takam, Povetkin and Ruiz.

Hearn overpaid for the Martin fight to get a title shot.

Brezeale, Molina and Takam are the type of opponents who won’t go to purse bid and probably received career high paydays.

Povetkin and Klitschko received a better deal in negotiations than what a purse bid would yield.

Ruiz got a miracle fight offer and took it. He ain’t going to purse bid.

This has NOTHING to do with purse bids.
