    Exactly.

Obama started low, ie after a recession.

Yet he only managed to grow GDP 2% annually with that low a baseline.

    That's pathetic.

Hell, Trump has it growing by 3% annually, and he's not even done a full year yet.

And it must be stressed, Trump has a higher baseline. The Trump GDP growth is very impressive, and it's just getting going.

The grubers are fixing to see some serious growth on the level of the 1980s. Watching them try to deny it has anything to do with Trump's policies is going to be fun to watch.

You don't hear any American praising the 70's, in fact the opposite is true, they'll all tell you how ****ty those years were and how great the 80's were. Jimmy Carter was crushed in re election, Reagan in his re election won in a historic landslide. That should be enough to tell you how people felt about the economy in the 80's vs the 70's.
    More truth.

First off, growth was not better in the 1970s compared to the 1980s. He's either lying or repeating lies the Democrats told him.

    And yes, that's counting inflation.

We haven't really had inflation for over a generation. People don't know how bad inflation is.

My dad put it this way: He said he got bigger raises in the 70s, but because of inflation our standard of living was worse off even with those bigger raises.

The raises in the 80s for him were smaller, but with inflation gone we lived a lot better.

I'm stunned anyone can think tax increases cause prosperity. The government is taking more money from consumers with tax raises. How the hell does that lead to an expanding economy???

When I was growing up in the late '70s the talk was all about the "Misery Index". Double digit inflation and double digit unemployment.

        Yup, I remember that.
(and who can forget the Carter gas lines)

Carter had the Misery Index at record levels.

And here you see grubers telling us the 1970s were somehow better than the 1980s.

Gruber didn't call them "stupid" for nothing.

It was done to reward republican donors and legislators (who cut themselves some sweet deals)

In essence it does nothing but kick our problems down the road for the next generation to deal with. Already been proven trickle down doesnt work, as shown by Reagan, Bush and Bush.

The goal of corporations is to serve its shareholders, and this bill merely gives them more leeway in shady accounting techniques.

I'm sure the monkeys here are happy to be getting a few more bananas however.

The tax cuts lower tax rates on ALL brackets.

So us non-rich get tax cuts too.

You really must start doing some independent research and not just being a Team D trained parrot.

Actually anything coming from the Government is something I wouldn't trust. You know, like places like the Congressional Research Service.

Remember, the Government, through the CBO, got Obamacare dead wrong.

They underestimated the cost of Obamacare by half. That's not good at all, and here you are touting the Government's word as gold.
