I always liked bench. For the high school varsity team, the coaches put together a combine like competition to measure speed, strength, endurance, that kind of thing.
They did the calculations to factor in our body weights.
When it was all said and done, I placed 5th on the team for bench.
I think the best 1 rep max I ever did was 245lb and at that time I weighed about 147. Not to bad.
I always sucked at squat. The form was always hard for me and I was always afraid of throwing out my back. Your form needs to be perfect. Puts a lot of pressure on your lower spine. That's why I always shied away from squats.

I was watching that strong man competition and this one guy looked old with a fat belly and was stronger than most of these guys.

Is this dude a powerlifter? He's not too far short of world record bench pressing for his weight class.

that old saying "never judge a book by its cover"..same with yunier dorticos..doesn't have a ripped body but punches so hard
